There are lots of reasons you may choose to have a prenatal consult with an IBCLC, and I'm here to help.
Prenatal consults are $75, and they run between 60-90 minutes. To see if your insurance will cover the cost of a consult at no out-of-pocket expense to you, head over here.
Maybe this is your first time planning to breastfeed, and you have a lot of questions. Maybe you had a breastfeeding experience before that did not go as you had planned. Whatever questions you may have about breastfeeding, I'm here to help.
Why have a prenatal consult?
Prenatal consults are all about you. Before we meet, I will send you an intake form so that I can understand any concerns you may have as well as see anything in your history that may impact the way you want to breastfeed. I want to make sure you are armed with the information you need to find success in breastfeeding, however that may look for you.
What happens during a prenatal consult?
During your appointment, you will be able to ask any questions you have about breastfeeding. You may want to know how to get breastfeeding off to a great start. You may have concerns about your breasts and wonder if you will be able to breastfeed. You may just want some education about how to know breastfeeding is going well. We will discuss this and everything else you want to know before your baby is born.
What happens next?
After your appointment, I will send you a care plan that includes everything we talk about during your consult. I will also be available to you should you have any more questions before your baby arrives.
